Power of Print

Det tryckta mediets roll i en digital värld

About PoP

The Power of Print will be strengthened

The project “The Power of Print” will call attention to the role of the printed medium in a world which is getting more and more digitized. The Swedish Graphic Companies’ Federation, The Swedish Printers’ Association, Posten Meddelande and Print Power are initiators of the project.

The Swedish Graphic Companies’ Federation represents the companies within the graphic and packaging industry. One of its main tasks is to market and strengthen the graphic industry, its products and its social advantages. This includes a long-term consolidation of the position of the printed medium.

As a part in this work The Swedish Graphic Companies’ Federation is running the project “The Power of Print”. The purpose of the project is to spread knowledge of the printed medium and how it works together with other media and in this way strengthen the position of the printed medium.

The first initiative to set up the project “The Power of Print” was taken in 2004 and the official starting signal sounded on the 1st January 2007 – in close cooperation with member companies, organizations and R&D institutes.

Ulf Dubois is the chairman of the steering committee of the project. Other members of the steering committee are Catarina Karlsson from Aller Media, Per Liljedahl from Posten Meddelande and Lars Lindgren from SCA Graphic (represents Print Power). The project leader is Maria Wikström and assistant project leader is Maria Blomgren, both from The Swedish Graphic Companies’ Federation.

The home page www.powerofprint.se contains facts and information about the printed medium. We have made a selection of topical research, of current investigations and of articles about the role of print in the communications society of today. We wish to highlight that print is the best medium – at least sometimes.
